What can I buy there?
Around 60 stallholders come from across the state to each market with their freshly picked own-grown produce, bringing a slice of rural life direct to the city shopper.

Fruit and vegetables make up the majority of produce and the variety reflects the true seasonal changes from month to month across Victoria. You are guaranteed to find the grower at the stall.

But that’s not all!

The rest of the household food shopping is as much of a dilemma of choice. The range includes free-range pork, beef, lamb, buffalo, venison, rabbit, chooks and eggs direct from the farms. Then there’s olive oil, breads, specialty cheeses, jams and preserves, juices, nuts, spice mixes, pasta, tea and a variety of specialty food products for gifts and treats brought to market by its maker.

To compliment it all, you’ll find fresh flowers, fruit trees, seedlings and bulbs depending on the season.

The criteria of the market is based on the declaration by stallholders that either minimal or no chemicals have been used in the production of their goods. An increasing amount is organic, and stallholders will only use that claim if it is certified organic by one of Australia ’s accredited certification bodies.
