    The Slow Food Farmers' Market will return to normal this Saturday back at the Abbotsford Convent. 

    We are very grateful to our friends at the Collingwood Children's Farm who kindly housed the Slow Food Farmers' Market last month, but we're pleased to say this Saturday things will be back to normal.

    On Saturday 28 January the Slow Food Farmers' Market will move next door to the Collingwood Children's Farm!

    That's right the farmers are on the move! But don't worry you'll still find the summer produce from 60 Victorian farmers and makers from the Slow Food Farmers' Market, but just with the animal bonus of the Collingwood Children’s Farm venue.

    To quote Christine Ross, much respected free range pig farmer and farmers' market stallholder, "A very serious and very sad event occurred in Victoria this week." You may have heard in the news the LE Giles Abattoir in Gippsland was closed within 12 hours of a video being released by Animals Australia to Primesafe, the Victorian meat authority .If you choose to view the video on Animals Australia's website, I warn you it is extremely distressing and certainly necessitated an immediate response.

    The season seems to have caught up with itself now and the mild summer has morphed into Autumn without major incident in our little corner of the world. Queensland has suffered more incredible rain and who knows what impact it will have on fresh produce over the next few months but it does highlight our overall reliance on supplies from elsewhere.
